Yesterday I made a trip to New York City with 3 of my designer friends to attend the 2013 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. We had a great time and came home more inspired than ever.
One of my favorite parts of the show was the “table viewing” sponsored by DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN. All of the tablescapes were fabulous and I wish I could be invited to a party in each one of them!
This vignette was designed by HGTV’s Vern Yip. The brilliant colors and detail were stunning, and this photo does not do it justice. Just look at the huge suspended drum shade and imagine the glow that would wash over the table if it was hanging from a porch or tent ceiling, or even suspended on wires over an open deck!
I love the tablecloth. Vern used several different oranges and trims in his room to add to the visual experience. Look very closely and you can see that the napkins have a contrasting trim too.
The drum shade was spectacular and had it’s own special trimming too!
If you are able to get there, I highly recommend attending the show this weekend.
