Meet Laurie Heffernon
Laurie Heffernon, interior decorator, designer and home stager, founded Done in a Day Decorating in 2004. She has worked with clients from all walks of life, helping them stay within their budget, transform their living space, and sell their homes quickly and profitably. Clients range from those with tight budgets to those owning higher end homes with more involved design plans.
Laurie believes that anyone can afford to have sensational rooms. Her hourly fees make valuable professional advice affordable. She understands that each client brings different design challenges to the table, with different levels of decision-making confidence, patience, time, and budget. Laurie is the only interior redesigner whose work has been featured in New England's Yankee Magazine. The "How'd They Do That?" column featured Laurie’s redesign of a home in Sudbury, Massachusetts. She has also been interviewed for the Comcast Network's "New England Newsmakers" show on "cool jobs" and has been featured in a consumer report segment of Boston's WBZ-TV News on how to renovate and redecorate your home for less.
Laurie trained with JoAnne Lenart-Weary, a nationally recognized design expert who has appeared on HGTV and who hosts a weekly local TV segment “Decorating with the Queen.”
Laurie earned her certification in interior redesign from Interior Redesign Industry Specialists and certifications in redesign and real estate staging from the Society of Decorating Professionals. She holds interior redesign and real estate staging certifications from The Decorating and Staging Academy.
Laurie earned a B.A. and M.A. in economics. During her early career in the business world she honed her skills in business management, product development, marketing and directing large projects involving multiple parties in multiple companies.
Laurie is a founder of the Massachusetts Alliance of Female Entrepreneurs, a forum for design professionals. Networking meetings with other home services professionals have translated into strong working relationships with skilled, reputable, and local, trades people, invaluable home renovation resources for her clients.
